Lovely Resin Bound Path in Chester!
Resin bound aggregate is quickly becoming one of the most popular choices for driveways and paths. That’s partly because it is hardwearing and has a natural looking finish which makes it a great alternative to block paving, tarmac, pattern imprinted concrete or loose gravel.
It’s also very versatile which means it can be used in any shape or size space that you have, whether it’s a winding path or a straight angled driveway, a flat surface, or a slope, resin bound aggregate is perfect. It’s also great for areas with limited access, which was the case with a recent project we completed in Chester.
Our clients wanted the area covering that leads to the front door and across the garage. The space sat snugly next to the neighbour’s property. That’s not a problem when laying a resin bound path in Chester. As you can see from the photographs attached, we were able to set out the shape of the driveway and path by creating a border using charcoal blocks. We then filled in the area, covering it with tarmac. It’s the tarmac that makes it permeable and therefore SUDs compliant as water can flow through the tarmac and into the ground.
Once the tarmac had set in place we mixed and applied a layer of the resin bound aggregate. We used 7.5 UV stable resin kits. Our clients had chosen golden pea aggregate and with the sun out it made it really glisten which you can see in the photographs. The charcoal grey blocks also nicely picked out the grey in the aggregate, linking everything together on the resin bound path in Chester.
