New Driveway in Heaton Mersey – That’s Only Half the Story!

Looking at the photographs included of this recent new driveway in Heaton Mersey, you could be forgiven for thinking that this was the finished driveway! With its neat and tidy light grey brick trim encasing the tarmac and the curb stones fitted to make the front step, it looks like this new driveway in Heaton Mersey was complete. The colour combination and brick detailing even complemented the grey window frames.

However, rather than being the finished article this is only half the story. That’s because the work completed so far is part of the preparation for a new resin bound driveway in Heaton Mersey. Before the tarmac and edging was laid New World Resin Driveways carried out a full excavation of the area, digging up and clearing away the old driveway and covering the area with type 1 MOT.

The next part of the process was to put in the charcoal blocks for the edging. This defined the shape and size of the new driveway in Heaton Mersey. We also laid charcoal kerbs for the step at the front door. With the space for the new resin bound driveway in Heaton Mersey marked out by the brick edging, we then poured 14mm open pore tarmac across the area. The tarmac provides the perfect based for the resin to be poured over at a later date. The tarmac is permeable meaning that the driveway will be SUDS compliant.

You may ask, why has this job not been completed? That’s because while it is possible to do all the preparation work including pouring the tarmac over the area, a new driveway in Heaton Mersey can only be installed at temperatures above 5 Degrees Celsius. As this project was started in the winter months, we are waiting to finish it once the weather has warmed up. Our clients were happy to have their driveway installed in two stages. While it looks great now, the new driveway will look even better once it’s finished!
